UV Printing

Full-colour printing straight onto objects and sheets, on a Mimaki UJF-3042 UV printer at our workshop in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The print area is up to 300 × 420 mm and objects can be up to 150 mm tall. Minimum charge is 70 RON per job.

UV ink cures instantly under the printer’s LED light, right on the surface. It isn’t a sticker or a transfer: the image is printed on the part itself.

FAQ

What surfaces can it print on?
Plastic, acrylic, metal, wood, glass, tiles and leather. The surface needs to be flat.

How big can the print be?
Up to 300 × 420 mm, close to A3.

How tall can the object be?
Up to 150 mm.

Can you print on dark or clear materials?
Yes. We have white ink, laid down as a base under the colours, so prints stay vivid on clear acrylic, glass and dark metal or wood.

What does the clear varnish do?
It adds gloss over the whole print or just parts of it, such as a logo, and protects it. Built up in layers it can give a slightly raised texture.

Can you print on round objects like bottles or mugs?
No. We don’t have the rotary attachment, so we print on flat surfaces only.

How long does it take?
From 2 days to a week, depending on the job.

How much does it cost?
The minimum is 70 RON per job. Above that it depends on the print area, quantity and set-up time. Send the artwork and we’ll quote it.

Can you print on T-shirts or fabric?
No. UV printing is for rigid and semi-rigid surfaces.

Is this available in the UK?
