A Blink video doorbell has a fixed lens. It films straight out from whatever it’s mounted to, so if the wall sits at an angle to your path, the camera points at the wall, the fence or the neighbouring house instead of at your visitor. An adjustable wedge mount fixes this by rotating the doorbell 25° to 55° to the left or right, without moving or re-drilling the existing fixing.
Why your Blink doorbell points the wrong way
This is almost never a camera fault. It’s geometry. The doorbell was fitted where the old bell or the existing wiring already was, and that position rarely faces the direction people actually approach from.
- The doorbell is beside the door, but the path arrives from one side. Visitors are caught in profile, or only appear once they’re directly in front of the lens.
- The doorbell faces a side wall, a porch return or a corner. You get a close-up of brickwork.
- The doorbell is on the opposite side of the door to the path. Motion alerts trigger late, because people enter the frame at the last moment.
How the adjustable wedge works
The wedge fits between the doorbell’s back plate and the wall, turning the whole unit horizontally so the lens aims along the path rather than across it.
- Rotates left or right — so it works whether your doorbell is mounted on the left or the right side of the door.
- 25° to 55°, with printed degree markings — you choose the angle instead of being locked to one fixed position.
- Horizontal adjustment only. It turns the doorbell side to side; it does not tilt it up or down.

Fitting it
- Check the live view first. Hold the doorbell where it will sit and open the Blink app. Note which way it needs to turn — left or right — and roughly how far.
- Set the angle using the printed degree markings. A shallow angle suits a path that’s slightly off-centre; a steeper one suits a doorbell facing square into a wall.
- Fix the wedge to the wall. Use the supplied screws and wall anchors, or the 3M VHB adhesive pad on a clean, smooth surface. Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol first.
- Refit the doorbell onto the wedge using the supplied stainless steel screws and washers, then re-check the live view before you finish.
For wired doorbells, the wedge has easy-to-cut cable tabs so the cable routes through neatly.
Compatibility
Fits all Blink doorbell models:
- Blink Video Doorbell (1st Gen)
- Blink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen)
- Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+
- Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+
The same wedge also fits Google Nest and Eufy doorbells. Ring doorbells are a different size and take a different mount, so we cover those separately. See all Blink doorbell accessories.
Frequently asked questions
Can you change the angle of a Blink doorbell?
Not on the doorbell itself — the lens is fixed and there is no angle setting in the Blink app. You change the angle by mounting the doorbell on an angled wedge, which rotates the whole unit 25° to 55° left or right.
Does the wedge angle the doorbell up or down?
No. This wedge adjusts horizontally only, turning the doorbell left or right. It solves a doorbell aimed at the wrong side; it will not correct one mounted too high or too low.
Does it work if my doorbell is on the left of the door?
Yes. The wedge can be angled either left or right, so it suits doorbells on either side of the doorway.
Do I need to drill new holes?
No. The wedge fits over your existing fixing, and includes a 3M VHB adhesive pad for a no-drill installation on clean, smooth surfaces such as uPVC, glass, sealed wood or tile. Screws and wall anchors are supplied for brick, render or textured surfaces, where adhesive will not hold reliably.
What is included?
The wedge, screws and wall anchors for fixing it to the wall, stainless steel screws and washers for fixing the doorbell to the wedge, and a 3M VHB adhesive pad. The doorbell and its original manufacturer back plate are not included — the wedge works alongside your existing back plate.
Will it survive outdoors?
Yes. It is printed in UV-stable PETG rather than PLA, so it resists heat and sunlight without warping or yellowing.
Does it fit other doorbell brands?
Yes — the same mount fits Google Nest and Eufy doorbells as well as Blink. Ring doorbells need a different size, which we make separately.
An honest note
Because this is a universal part, on some Blink models it sits slightly wider or taller than the doorbell itself. That is cosmetic and does not affect how securely it holds.
You may also see faint layer lines across the surface. These are a normal result of the 3D printing process, not a fault — every printed part has them to some degree, and they have no effect on strength, weather resistance or fit. We would rather explain that up front than have it come as a surprise.
