The same magnet as our ORIGINAL, in a body that is noticeably smaller and flatter. If you want the tracker to disappear rather than merely be out of sight, this is the one. It also carries a 3M VHB adhesive pad, so it will go on surfaces a magnet cannot touch.

Slim does not mean weak

This is the question we get asked most, so to be clear: the magnet in the SLIM is the same high-grade neodymium magnet we put in the ORIGINAL, at the same strength. You are giving up bulk, not grip. What the thinner body does cost you is a little of the ORIGINAL's brute physical toughness, so for a mine site or a road planer we would still point you at the bigger one.

Two ways to fix it

Magnet — onto any ferrous metal: chassis, subframe, engine bay, toolbox, gate, machinery. Nothing to clean or prepare, no curing time, and it comes off as fast as it went on — so one holder can follow whichever vehicle or machine is going somewhere you'd rather it didn't.

3M VHB pad — the industrial foam adhesive used to bond vehicle panels, for aluminium bodywork, plastic, fibreglass, glass and anything else a magnet ignores. Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol, press firmly for thirty seconds and leave it a few hours before you go anywhere; the bond keeps building over the first day.

Why plastic and not metal

A machined aluminium or steel holder puts metal between your tracker's aerial and the phones that need to find it. The signal gets weaker, the tag works harder, and the battery goes sooner. Plastic does not do that. Your tag reports from further away and lasts as long as it should.

Built for outside

Water resistant, vibration resistant and impact resistant, and low-profile enough that most people never spot it.

Which of the four should you buy?

  • ORIGINAL — the toughest magnetic mount, for industrial and vehicle use.
  • SLIM (this one) — same magnet, smaller and more discreet, plus a 3M VHB pad.
  • BASIC — the same 3M VHB pad plus zip ties, no magnet. The cheapest of the four.
  • SUPREME — magnet, pad and zip ties in one slim body.

Designed and 3D printed in bio-plastic in our own family workshop in Bristol. Fine print lines are normal on a 3D-printed part and make no difference to how it works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the magnet weaker because the holder is slimmer?
No. It is the same high-grade neodymium magnet at the same strength as our ORIGINAL. The slim body costs you a little bulk and ruggedness, not holding power.
Does it fit the 2nd generation AirTag and the Moto Tag?
Yes. It takes the 1st and 2nd generation Apple AirTag and the Motorola Moto Tag.
What if there is no steel for the magnet to grip?
Use the 3M VHB pad instead. It is there for aluminium bodywork, plastic panels, fibreglass and glass - anything a magnet ignores. Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol first and press hard for thirty seconds.
Why is it plastic rather than machined metal?
A metal shell sits between the tag's aerial and the phones it needs to reach, weakening the signal and draining the battery faster. Plastic lets the signal through, so the tag is found from further away and the battery lasts as intended.
When is the magnet the better choice, and when the pad?
The magnet's advantage is speed - nothing to clean or prepare, no curing time, and you can lift it off and move it to another vehicle in seconds. The pad is for surfaces the magnet can't grip, and for anything you want fixed permanently in one place.
Should I buy this or the SUPREME?
Take the SUPREME if you also want the option of zip-tying it to something round or irregular, like a bike frame or a scaffold pole. If magnet or pad covers you, the SLIM does the job.
